有人说周子曦的绘画作品似乎具有一切伟大作品所具备的有效成份,但也具有不成功作品的失效部分。他虽然没有长期的接受过艺术学院的训练,但是其艺术风格却是别具一格。在此次展出的两张《幸福生活》系列作品中我们可以了解到他对社会和历史题材的关注,更体现出欲记录并穿透当下生活的企图。在充满调侃与讽喻意味的画面中,风行一时的户外运动被荒诞地置换到室内,暴力被娱乐化,被装饰,被隐藏……而展出的另一组则是艺术家比较私人化的作品——《我的似水流年》;该系列作品创作于2001-2002年之间。琐碎的工作场景、生活片段以及艺术家本人的肖像还原了艺术家在过去一段时间内的生活以及工作状态,周子曦将形式与环境从那些不被注意的角落中提炼出来,用他自己的方式纪念那似水的青春韶华。
It is said Zhou Zixi’s paintings seem to have all the effective factors that great works contain, whereas with the fail factors for unsuccessful works also. Never being trained from an academy of fine arts, the artistic style of Zhou is unique however. In this exhibition, two works from his “Happy life” series, among which the attention to society and history manifests the recording and penetration of contemporary life. In full of fun and allegory in the rage of outdoor sports ground displacement is absurd to indoor, and entertainment, violence is decorated and hidden... The rest pieces, however, are more private—the series of “My Flowing Time ”, which was painted during 2001—2002. Trivial work life scenes and self-portraits restored the past fragments of the artist, who extracted the form and environment from the modest corners with his own way to youthful days like flowing waters.
