这是一个纪录片，
This is a documentary.

它记录了我和我的朋友们在2005年8月做的一件事。
It is a documentary about something that my friends and I did in August 2005.

你现在看到的是我们在攀登世界最高山峰-珠穆朗玛峰。
You can watch us now climbing the highest mountain in the world - Mt. Everest.

它位于中国西藏省境内，
it is located in Tibet, China.

海拔8848米。
It is 8848 meters above sea level.

大家看，
Look!
我们终于爬到了山顶。
We finally reached the top!

在挥旗子的是我，
I am the one waving the national flag

另外两个是我的朋友。
the two others are my friends.

我们身后这个小山头就是珠穆朗玛峰。
The small hilltop at the back is Everest.

这次我决定爬上这座人类最高峰的目的不是爬上去就行了。
When I decided to reach the highest pick of the world, it wasn’t only for climbing purposes

我的目的是为了把这座山的山顶锯下来。
but it was to saw off the peak of the mountain,

并把它运下来给大家看。
and to show it to everyone.

我决定锯下186cm的高度的山头。
I decided to saw off a piece 186cm high

因为这是我的身高。
because it is my height.

为了完成这件事情，
To accomplish this

我和我的朋友们做了大量的准备。
my friends and I did a lot of preparations.

还制作了锯山顶的工具。
Including producing tools for sawing.

你看到录像里面这几个人身上背的就是这些工具。
What people are carrying in the video are those tools.

我的朋友负责拍摄这个锯山的过程。
One of my friends was in charge of filming the sawing process.

因为山顶上的温度达到了零下30多度。
As the temperature on the hilltop was -30 C

这严重影响了我们的拍摄的图像质量。
it greatly affected the quality of the images,

而且风很大。
the wind was also very strong.

我们开始安装设备。
We are starting to install the equipment,

和测量现场的数据。
and surveying the spot.

这是在测量山顶的高度和宽度。
This is during the measuring of the height and the width of the hilltop,

这是在确定位置
determining the spot.

上山的气候相当恶略
The weather is terribly bad.

我们的队友已经累得不行了
My team is completely exhausted.

好，

设备安装完成了。
Equipment is completely installed.

要开始锯了。
We are about to saw.

这是个历史性的时刻。
This is a historical moment.

把燃料加入发动机。。。。
We are filling the engine with fuel...

这次活动的技术总监沈工开始启动发动机。。。。
the technical director, engineer Shen, is starting the engine...

温度实在太低了。
the temperature is really low.

发动机启动有点困难
It is difficult to start the engine.

好，
Ok

发动机终于转了起来。。。。
the engine is finally working...

连着发动机的钢链，
the steel chain connected with the engine 

慢慢的转动起来了。
starts to move slowly.

大家看到，
Look!

在画面上抖动的就是锯山用的钢链
The thing moving in the video is the steel chain for sawing.

我们把钢链卡在在山峰上我们需要的高度
We are displaying the steel chain at the desired height.

发动机带动钢链转动，
The steel chain moves as the engine works.

钢链就慢慢的围着山体越嵌越深。
The steel chain slowly surrounds the mountain, deeper and deeper,

最后把山顶锯下来。
until the hilltop is sawed.

这个技术来自于军方锯潜水艇的思路
This technology comes from the navy concept of sawing submarines.

这是沈工
This is engineer Shen.

经过两小时，
After two hours,

终于锯完了。
the hilltop is finally cut off.

队员们也已经累得不行了。
The team is dead tired.

但是严重的高原反应也阻挡不止把山头拿下来的强烈的心愿
Still, the effects of deep altitude don’t obstruct the strong will of taking the hilltop away.

这时在商量下一步的计划
We are now talking about the next step of the project.
 
我们要把这个186高的山头推下山。
We want to push the 186 cm high hilltop down the mountain.

因为锯的时候我们设计的锯切角度有点往下斜，
As designed, we carved the top at an angle.

再加上冰雪在减少磨擦力。
Because of the ice and the snow, it has less frictional force.
 

所以，通过一些简单的工具我们就能移动这个小山头。
So, by using simple tools, we are able to move the small hilltop away.

这个镜头，已经移动了大概1米左右。
On this shot, It has already moved about 1 meter.

再往右移动6-7米就能推下去了
It just has to be moved 6-7
meters to the right for us to push it down.

又往右移动了1米
It moved to the right another meter.

这是沈工到山头的右前方安装绞盘设备。
This is engineer Shen displaying the
equipment and the pulley on the right,
in the front of the hilltop.

准备一鼓作气把山头拉过去。
We are planning to pull away the hilltop instantly.

沈工在使用绞盘
Engineer Shen is using the pulley.

山头在绞盘的拉力下慢慢的在移动
Under the force of the pulley, the hilltop is slowly moving.

山头已经快接近位置了
The hilltop is close to the desired spot.

这是我在向摄影师发信号，
This is me giving the signal to the photographer,

做好山头即将离开山体的准备。
to prepare himself for the dissociation
 between the hilltop and the mountain.

大家看到吗，
Do you see?
山头在移动。
The hilltop is moving.

风雪实在是太大了
Wind and snow are blowing too strongly.

好，
Ok
关键的时刻到了，
this is the key point,

队员们汇拢到一起。
the team is gathering together.

山头已经被移动到下山的位置。
The hilltop is already at the decided place for its descent.

这个时候只要轻轻的推一下这个山头，
At that moment, we just have to push the hilltop a little bit,

它就会滑下山体。
it will slide down the mountain.

看，看，看。
Look! look!

山头滑下去了，
The hilltop slid down.

让我们再重放一遍，，，，
let’s see that again...

看清楚了吗
Did you see clearly?

一个庞然大物滑了下去
A gigantic object has slid down.

我们终于把珠穆朗玛峰拿下来了。
We finally took Everest down.

队员们欢呼着，
The team is hailing,
忘了严重的高原反应和恶略的气候。
forgetting the effects of the
altitude and the horrible weather.

现在队员们站在失去了珠穆朗玛峰的喜马拉雅山上。
The team is now standing on the Himalayas without Everest.

他们脚下是平坦的山顶。
Under their feet is the flat hilltop.

我们可以在展览现场看到这个186cm高的珠穆朗玛峰。
We can now see in the exhibition space the 186cm high Everest.
