Introduction

Xiao Kegang, Born in 1968 in Xichang City, Sichuan Province, China, Graduated from Department Fine Arts of Southwest Normal University in 1991, Now lives and works in Chengdu. In his practice, Xiao Kegang executes an abstract rendering of regional culture, transforming static cultural symbols into fluid carriers of emotion. Simultaneously, through a relentless exploration of visual narratives, mixed media, and painting methodology, he consistently dissolves preconceived forms and ruptures established conventions. Out of this perpetual cycle of dismantling and renewal, he forges a profoundly individualized and singular painterly lexicon.
