Introduction:
This is the second major exhibition of contemporary Chinese paintings in the 80s, organised by the Asia Pacific Museum in Pasedena, California. Drawing examples from 'New Wave' and 'Avant-Garde' paintings since 1985, and covering a wider geographical area which includes Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Wuhan and Changsha, the organizer intends to present a realistic view of how far contemporary Chinese painting had gone since the euphoria of the early Eighties and the Tiananmen protest of 1989.
