Join in with professional dancers and participating students for this special evening of film, live music and discussion.
About the Work
New Dance for Camera is the aesthetic, temporal, and interactive intersections of dance, film, and most recently new media cut across avant-garde art and popular culture domains. Rose’s dance films draw on physical and spatial aspects inherent to dance as well as the temporal abilities of film, visual and video art in order to create a new expressive medium.
Inspired by artist Hu Liu with her exhibition Black Wave, artist Qiu Anxiong’s New Book of Mountains and Seas, and the architecture of Long Museum and West Bund. Rose's films provide a platform for choreographic storytelling and creative expression. The following Q&A allows intimate access to innovative media artists and the inspiration behind their cinematic works.
