Jiang Pengyi's solo exhibition "Cao Wei, Cao Wei" opened at Nanshan Society on 21 March and will run until 30 May, 2026. The exhibition unfolds via a parallel narrative, weaving together twenty years of visual archives from the artist’s birthplace, Caowei, Hunan, while juxtaposing them with scenes from a chance encounter in Caowei, Guangdong, during a travel in 2025. Marking Jiang Pengyi’s first solo exhibition using documentary film as a narrative vehicle, the exhibition chronicles geographical shifts while weaving in the textual perspective of his eponymous novel, ultimately exposing the evolving threads of history shared by these two distinct places with the exact same name.
