The Migration of Fission
By Li Rui
Foucault said “Life is art”.Hegel believes that art is the “life infusion” into the subject’s heart, bringing nature into the heart. Hence art is no longer the raw nature, but the mixture of “Spiritualization” and “Materialization”. It is the presentation of beauty and nature when artists bring spirits into their lives. This power is the origin of why art could maintain critical.
The best value of a nation is its culture. The contemporary artwork is not only the carrier to bear the aesthetics thinking and debating, but also a mirror to reflect the social innovation and development trends. The social changes in current China have resulted in the removal of multiple art districts gathered spontaneously by artists and art agencies. The favorable culture ecology developed for nearly 10 years will also be demolished as well, while the new art districts are still yet to be built up and established.Under this special social circumstance, every single artist, who participates deeply into social activities, will face different social innovations and great changes of the times directly. The living space where artists stay is going through fission and migration, and then reborn. If we regard the artist as a spiritual individual, and look at the living space where the artist stays as a material substance, then this fission process is also, like we said, the presentation of bringing spirits into life and nature. Artists are looking for their souls through the fission of the times and life. When they are building up their spiritual homes, they have also created more and more contemporary artworks with multiple elements and strong personalities.
40outstanding young Chinese contemporary artists, using carriers like oil paintings, sculptures, small installations and images, present us the innovation of China during globalization in various forms. They have shown their attention and interference in social realities via the presenting method of self-infusion. Majority of their artworks comprehensively focus on the realistic life from multiple aspects, presenting the realities of how current Chinese society and art districts have changed in the past two years. This is also one of the meanings why the exhibition is held in Kommunale Galerie Berlin for the first time.
