The third project of ShanghART Beijing Upstairs focuses on the recent paintings of artist Xiao Kegang.
In his practice, Xiao Kegang executes an abstract rendering of regional culture, transforming static cultural symbols into fluid carriers of emotion. Simultaneously, through a relentless exploration of visual narratives, mixed media, and painting methodology, he consistently dissolves preconceived forms and ruptures established conventions. Out of this perpetual cycle of dismantling and renewal, he forges a profoundly individualized and singular painterly lexicon.
