The table is sloping as if it has reached the most dangerous moment, but no one knows how to deal with it; hence a solution to the problem is urgently required, even though it might already be too late. Yet, they have never stopped seeking their own benefits, each with his own axe to grind.
(Sometimes futile efforts can ease the guilt of one’s past mistakes and inaction, helping to achieve a balance with one’s conscience).
