JIANG Pengyi, SUN Xun and ZHANG Ding are nominated for the Prudential Eye Awards

ShangART Gallery’s artists JIANG Pengyi，SUN Xun and ZHANG Ding are nominated respectively for the“Best Emerging Artist Using Photography”, “Best Emerging Artist Using Digital/Video”and“Best Emerging Artist Using Installation”of the Prudential Eye Awards, the result will be announced on Jan 20, 2015 in Singapore.

Launched by David & Serenella Ciclitira in 2014, the Prudential Eye Awards celebrate and support emerging artistic talent across Greater Asia. The 13 Awards that will be presented are: “Best Emerging Artist”,“Emerging Artist of the Year”,“Lifetime Achievement Award for Asian Contemporary Art”,etc. The“Best Emerging Artist”has 6 categories, they are: Digital/Video , Drawing, Installation, Painting, Photography, Sculpture. The overall winner will receive the opportunity to hold a solo show at Saatchi Gallery, London.

The first edition was hold successfully on the January, the overall winner is Australian artist Ben Quilty who won the 2014 Prudential Eye Award, 2011 Archibald Prize and 2009Doug Moran National Portrait Prize. The Jury for the Prudential Eye Awards will be made up of distinguished international figures from the contemporary art world including Nigel Hurst (CEO of Saatchi Gallery), Serenella Ciclitira (Founder of the Global Eye Programme), Chang Tsong-Zung (Co-Founder of Asia Art Archive), Niru Ratnam (Director of the Global Eye Programme) and last year’s ‘Best Emerging Artist’ recipient, Ben Quilty.
