Starting from September, ShanghART Gallery is officially opening its West Bund Video Room to the public. There will be a screening of approximately 1.5 hours every Saturday at 2pm; the playlist of video works will be posted online and changed every two weeks. Mr Hu Jieming, as the academic consultant of the space, will host ShanghART Video Art Salon, which takes place during the screenings every other week.
Since it’s establishment in 2008, ShanghART Video Archive aims to share its video art resources with scholars and lovers both on its official website and in person in Shanghai and Beijing spaces. The ShanghART Video Archive currently hosts around 400 video art works from 43 different artists. Other than making reservation to view specific films, the public now have access to films screenings every Saturday afternoon at the ShanghART Video room (Bldg 8, 2555 Longteng Avenue, Xuhui District, Shanghai).
Video Art Salon is a long term project available to the public. It aims to dissect, digest and produce conversations around the video art works during the screenings every other week.
