The painting part on the wall of this installation painting work contains the six reactionary figures mentioned in The Communist Manifesto on one side (A spectre is haunting Europe — the spectre of communism. All the powers of old Europe have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this spectre: Pope and Tsar, Metternich and Guizot, French Radicals and German police-spies). On the other side, the vacant sofa refers to the artist in the history of modern art. The content on both sides echoes the new political situation and the history of artistic ambition in today's world. No matter whether it is politics or art, it has never given up the intervention and subversion of the real world. Everything is under the cover of camouflage butterflies, and the fictional prosperity is mocking the reality. With a loud bang from the installation, the work awakens the real dreams. The mechanical devices are fiercely confronted each other, and together they hit a piece of transparent glass that can never be broken. The plausible whiteness satirizes the world of illusion, regardless of politics or art.
