The work takes a cast glass panel as its support, the surface of which retains the negative imprint of a knife. The form of the knife does not appear as a physical object; rather, it is recorded within the glass as a shallow indentation. Beneath the glass panel, a layer of floral patterning is laid out, producing a subtle visual superimposition between the sharp implement and the soft, decorative imagery. The absence of the knife becomes central to the work. It may once have been placed in a private position close to the body; once removed, only a barely perceptible indentation remains. This negative form is both a physical trace and a residual mark of memory. Situated between the softness of the patterned motif and the transparency of the material, it suggests a lingering sensation of pain and guardedness, something that has passed, yet continues to faintly persist.
