One Man Show will be a two-hour flm that is almost impossible to read. In a recent experiment, I used a feature of AI vision software that detects all human fgures in a moving image and erases them, leaving only empty scenes — doors opening and closing on their own, a solitary sofa, teacups, or glitching sounds with no one present. I applied it to 2001: A Space Odyssey, ultimately producing a 1:1 film of the same duration as the original — a one-man show in the vastness of space, in which only the artifcial intelligence "HAL" remains. In the original flm, the AI is shut down by the human astronauts precisely because it fails to complete its own act of erasing humanity. In One Man Show, however, all humans have vanished, leaving behind an empty space devoid of human traces — what, then, does this imply? In images that represent the "past," a humanity unwilling to become the past turns into ghosts.
