As cooperation between Zhang Ding and Dunhill, Next consists of a head-wearable installation and a suit of garments. Zhang took two photos of this work and then designed its window display based on interior environment of Dunhill store in Huaihai Middle Road in Shanghai. In this project, he was planning to make a video of an adventure journey away from electronic ruins and looking for a real world. Although the plan was not finally carried out, artist carefully designed this installation and suit as necessary equipment for this stillborn journey. Simple and exposed, the installation easily obtains external sound and images. The leather coat adopts typical elements from Sun Yat-sen suit. Adventure follows the dimensions of both time and space. And the synthesis of faint information collected during the activity is namely the landscape before us while it only exists as part of the natural code in this space-time dimension.
